I bought an acer aspire v5 with windows 8 Home. I had some issues and had to get recovery media from Acer. When doing the factory restore I somehow lost the built in recovery partition (still present but not accessible or mounted?). I then purchased a student discounted PRO upgrade and after the upgrade all acer related apps/drivers were removed during the refresh. Since then I’ve moved to 8.1. How can I use the ISO to do a reformat and clean install correctly? What steps are necessary (i.e. reformat, then acer recovery media, then pro upgrade, then clean install?). Any advice is helpful. Thanks.
You may try a data recover software which might help you if you backup your data before resetting to factory set, then it will be easy to get your data back. <a href='http://www.easeus.com/mac/mac-data-recovery/'easeus data recovey wizard professional will do the job for you.

I was reading the MUO article on the options for downloading a complete ISO version of 8.0 and 8.1 (//www.makeuseof.com/tag/overcome-windows-8-1-upgrade-errors-with-a-legal-iso-download/) for a clean install via windows product key. I wasnt sure which version i should use since my computer came with 8.0 pre-installed. Also, after i do the recovery using acer media, do i then do a clean install of 8.1 to preserve hardware drivers and after the clean install use the pro upgrade key?
